Today is the second Sunday in the Season of Advent. This season is a time of waiting and preparation – for the birth of Jesus; for the arrival of his kingdom; for his arrival in the worshipper’s heart. Despite the busyness of this season, Advent invites you to slow down. It is, as Thomas Hoffman writes, “a time to secret ourselves with Mary, to join our hearts with hers, and to grow pregnant with God together.”
